Terriers win 50th consecutive game
RUTLAND — The Bellows Falls varsity field hockey team outscored Rutland 8-1 on Monday.
"Overall, everybody played a really good game. The girls came out and played a strong game. We passed really well," commented winning coach Bethany Coursen.
Leading 7-0 at the half, the Terriers allowed their first goal of the season in the final 30 minutes of play.
Abbe Cravinho, Sophie Hyslop and Emily Harris all tallied twice for Bellows Falls. Megan Banik and Madi Joy also scored.
"Harris was in the right place at the right time. Madison Streeter and Maya Waryas each fed her a sweet pass," noted Coursen.
It was the 50th consecutive victory for the Terriers, who haven't lost since falling to Otter Valley 2-0 on Oct. 8, 2015. Stowe previously held the Vermont record with 48 wins in a row from 2004 to 2008. Rice made an impressive run from 2012-14, going 46-2-4 in that time.
The 10-0 Terriers will host MAU Wednesday.
