Twin Valley girls to debut on road

BRATTLEBORO — The Twin Valley varsity girls soccer team will be up against it early on, opening up against a loaded Leland & Gray squad, facing a deep Bellows Falls club, and then taking on two-time defending Division 4 champion Arlington.

The Wildcats went 5-11 last season, including a 2-0 playoff victory over Blue Mountain. They then lost to eventual state champion Arlington 1-0 in a D-4 quarterfinal.

Sadie Boyd scored both of Twin Valley's playoff goals in 2018. Jarrett Niles and Brianna O'Hearn each picked up an assist versus Blue Mountain, while Maria Page earned the shutout.

"I think our team played pretty good today, but we could have done a better job of passing," said Boyd after the postseason win on Hayford Field.

The Wildcats will play their first home game on Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. Their complete schedule is shown below.

Sept. 5 — host Bellows Falls, 6 p.m.

Sept. 9 — at Arlington, 6 p.m.
