Twin Valley soccer awards are presented

BRATTLEBORO — Olivia Genella, Josh Carpenter-O'Hearn and Yeongjun Yoo were named Most Improved at the Twin Valley Soccer Awards Night.

Genella, a junior defender, helped the girls team to a 5-10-1 record. Other players receiving awards were: Tayler Courchesne (Coaches Award), Tatyanna Bowman (Golden Boot) and Sadie Boyd (Rookie of the Year).

It was the final season at the helm for Chris Walling, who coached the Lady Wildcats for 19 years. His senior captains were Callie Dix, Jordyn Bolognani, Bowman and Courchesne.

Bowman was named a Marble Valley League All-Star and All State. Dix is an MVL 2nd Teamer.

Colin McHale (Top Newcomer), Izaak Park (Defensive Player of the Year), Jack McHale (Offensive Player of the Year) and Logan Park (Top Performer) joined Carpenter-O'Hearn as award winners for the Twin Valley boys varsity soccer team.

The Wildcats went 15-2, including playoff victories over Oxbow and BFA-Fairfax.

James McGovern, Dylan Howe, Logan Park, Jack McHale, Gunnar Nilsen, Colin McHale, Izaak Park and Carpenter-O'Hearn all made it onto an MVL team. Jack McHale, Logan Park and McGovern are All-State selections.

The junior varsity boys soccer awards went to Finn Fisher (Best Offensive), Allen Cole (Best Defensive) and Yoo (Most Improved).
