Two injured in Chesterfield crash

CHESTERFIELD, N.H. — Chesterfield police responded to a crash involving three vehicles on Route 9 near the Spofford Irving Big Deal service station late Tuesday afternoon.

Police said a grey Volkswagen trying to make a left turn into the gas station was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same lane at about 50 mph. The Volkswagen was spun 180 degrees into the other lane, where it was hit by a box truck.

The driver of the Volkswagen was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the initial collision was transported to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, N.H. with minor injuries. The driver of the box truck waived off medical attention.

The Chesterfield and Spofford fire departments responded to the crash, along with Chesterfield police.

The crash is under investigation.
