We all scream: There's nothing more New England than ice cream in summer

It's a rite of summer in Southern Vermont, one eagerly observed by children of all ages. From little general stores to busy roadside drive-ups, Vermonters and their visitors love to line up for a scoop or two (or more). Soft serve or hard scoop, maple creemee or sorbet, plain, sugar or waffle cone: All are welcome and eagerly devoured. We sent photographers Kristopher Radder of the Brattleboro Reformer and Holly Pelczynski of the Bennington Banner into the field in search of people enjoying ice cream (and with the promise we'd buy them a cone). Here's what they found.
