Westminster bridge project meeting set for Nov. 9

WESTMINSTER — The Vermont Agency of Transportation Structures Section is developing a bridge repair project for Bridges 21 North and South in the town of Westminster on Interstate 91, passing over the Saxtons River and Route 121.

An informational meeting sponsored by the Vermont Agency of Transportation and the Windham Regional Planning Commission will be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 9.

The meeting will be at the State Police Barracks at 1330 Westminster Heights Road in Westminster.

The intent of this meeting is to provide an overview of the bridge deck replacement project and receive feedback regarding project development from town officials, local residents and businesses, emergency services and other interested parties. There will be a review of the existing site conditions, proposed work, the traffic control plan and overall project schedule. This will be followed by a question and answer period.

Representatives from VTrans and the design engineering firm, Stantec, will be available at the meeting to address any public concerns and questions.

The project is currently completing final design and is planned for a spring 2020 construction start.
