Wilkinson earns DAR Good Citizens Award
BELLOWS FALLS — Isaac Wilkinson has been named the 2019 Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen for Bellows Falls Union High School. The DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest, created in 1934, is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. Isaac, a senior, is the son of Chris and Kim Wilkinson of Bellows Falls.
This award is given based on the following criterion set forth by the DAR national organization: dependability (including truthfulness, loyalty and punctuality); service (including cooperation, courtesy and consideration of others); leadership (including personality, self-control and
ability to assume responsibility); and patriotism (including unselfish interest in family, school, community and nation). He clearly embodies these characteristics every day.
Isaac has demonstrated his dependability through his commitment to his academics, school activities, his job and his community. Reliable and conscientious, he follows through on commitments and is someone people can count on. A dedicated student who works hard, he is a member of the Marilee Huntoon Jesse A. Judd Chapter of the National Honor Society at Bellows Falls Union High School. Isaac is an excellent student who asks great questions and puts a fantastic effort into everything he does. Isaac fully commits to classroom activities, discussions and assignments. He is an active participant in his education who comes to school every day willing to give 100 percent to the task at hand.
Isaac is cooperative, courteous and considerate of others. Always enthusiastic and friendly, he greets people with a smile and shows sincere interest when conversing with others. A young man who genuinely cares about people, he has a huge heart. Isaac works hard to welcome and involve others in activities, and help them see views from different perspectives. Isaac is well liked and has earned the respect of his peers as well as the staff at Bellows Falls Union High School.
A young man with a clear appreciation and respect for his family, school, and community, whether in school, at a sporting event, working in the community or socializing with friends, Isaac carries himself in a manner that makes his family, school, and community proud of him. A leader by example, he has a fantastic attitude. He is not only positive, but he works hard to help others see the positive side of situations as well. As a good role model and quiet leader, he makes BFUHS a better place due to his leadership, humility and character.
DAR and BFUHS are proud to have Isaac represent us with this award.
