Your Thanks: Lorraine Kelley

Editor of the Reformer,

Thank you Leon and Sue Cobb!

My nephew, Jed, of Poultney, died on June 7 from ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He had a bucket list and the last item was to take a ride in a 1960s Corvette. I traveled over hill and dale to find someone. I stopped at Phantom Fireworks in Hinsdale, N.H., because every Saturday they have Cruise Night. The Now and Then Care Club goes there. I left a message at Phantom Fireworks and lo and behold my prayers were answered!

The president of the club, Bruce Guild, contacted Leon and Sue Cobb of Vernon, who contacted me and a plan was set in motion! On May 29, Leon and Sue loaded a 1966 Sting Ray Corvette on a trailer. They followed my son, Travis Winter and I two hours to Poultney. They wouldn't take any money; they are angels! The joy on my nephew's face is forever in my head!

My nephew was very overwhelmed with emotion and I'm honored to be his Aunt Rainey! Thank you Leon and Sue, you both have earned your angel wings!

Lorraine Kelley

Hinsdale, N.H., June 8
