Your Thanks: Windham County's Got Talent
Editor of the Reformer,
Regarding the article "Circus Performer spins for a win" (Feb. 1), I want to congratulate every artist from Windham County's Got Talent 2020. A prize may be one form of acknowledgment but the pen is mightier than the sword. In a talent show there are varieties of factors to consider including age, modes of production, flexibility, and plasticity. You all did wonderfully! As a previous singer, I will comment solely upon the singers starting with Sofia Bianconi, followed by Brianna Chowning and Flyboy Mystro. First, I felt moved when I heard Ms. Bianconi's adaptation of "Let It Be" and "Lean On Me" mixed into one song and played harmoniously with the ukulele. Ms. Bianconi's voice was full and buoyant. Sofia's ability to perform in front of a wide audience was formidable and brought vivacity. Second, a warm, difficult solo was sung by Brianna Chowning. Chowning's voice was deep and delivered with dimension. She seized the moment, defining it with grace and dignity. Third, I want to congratulate Flyboy Mystro who shook up the stage with his dance moves wearing bright white and snazzy sneakers that went along well with his silvery voice. Mr. Mystro even got the ladies cheering, as he threw his t-shirt in the audience during the hip-hop song. Flyboy's ability to work the crowd was remarkable. Celebrating this fact, I commend these talented individuals for sharing their talents, illuminating the audience and bravely.
