BRATTLEBORO — In its 30th Annual Lamplighter Awards, The New England Society for Healthcare Communications (NESHCo) honored Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with a total of three awards for the hospital's work in healthcare marketing.

The Lamplighters were established to showcase and honor excellence in healthcare communications throughout the New England region. The 2020 competition totaled 282 entries which were judged by other healthcare marketing societies across the country.

BMH received two Bronze awards for Excellence in Writing and Excellence in Publications for the special Year in Review 2019 edition of the Healthwise Magazine printed by Howard Printing of Brattleboro. "Designing the special edition of our bi-annual magazine allowed us to share a 'behind-the-scenes' look at how our hospital operates, highlighting the dedication of our staff members in a special way," noted Maeve Shaughnessy, marketing and communications manager for BMH.

Additionally, BMH received a Gold award for Excellence in Video Production for Television Advertising for a Clinical Recruitment video produced by Mondo Mediaworks of Brattleboro. "We were thrilled to receive the top award for our video. Collaborating with Mondo Mediaworks, we were able to succinctly highlight the variety of clinical positions open at the hospital and feature many familiar faces to our community members," Shaughnessy added.

"The Lamplighter Awards are a testament to excellence in healthcare marketing and communications, and are a wonderful way for our members to have their work recognized by their peers and colleagues," stated Dan Dunlop, principal at Jennings Healthcare Marketing and current NESHCo president.
