The Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department is offering a number of programs for youth in the coming months. For more information, or if any special needs are required, call 802-254-5808 or stop by the Recreation & Parks office at the Gibson Aiken Center, 207 Main St., Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 5 p.m. For a complete listing/description of events, visit the website at brattleboro.org.

- Yoga and Pilates with Cyndy Gray: For those age 16 and older. Classes are as follows: Yoga on Mondays from 12:10 to 1:10 p.m., Strong Yoga on Wednesdays from 12:10 to 1:10 p.m., andYoga/Pilates on Fridays from 12:10 to 1:10 p.m. Classes will be held in the gymnastics room. This session will begin March 2 and will continue until April 24. There will be no class the week of April 27 to May 1. The cost is as follows: one class a week for the session is $55, two times a week is $65 and three times a week is $75. Non-Brattleboro residents add $25 to the costs. Gray, has a B.S. in physical education and is a certified to teach both yoga and Pilates. She also has a black belt

in karate.

- Youth Historical Fencing program: Led by Reily Mumpton is for those age 7-12. Participants will explore an introduction to Western Martial Arts and the forms of combat pursued and developed within Medieval Europe. Students will learn the basics of combat, self-defense and a history of swordplay within medieval society. Bring comfortable, clean soled shoes. The sessions will run from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, March 5, 12, 19, 26 and April 2 and 9. The fee is $85 for Brattleboro residents and $100 for non-residents.

- Kickboxing and Conditioning with Cyndy Cray: For those age 16 and older and runs year-round. Participants have the choice to attend on Wednesdays, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and/or Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. This program is a rolling registration, so feel free to join at any time. Cyndy focuses her classes on strength, agility and athletic conditioning. The cost of the program is as follows: one class a week is $40 per month or $75 for two months. Two classes a week is $50 per month or $90 for two months. Non-Brattleboro residents add $25 to the fees. Cyndy offers a one-time drop-in fee of $10 for a single class.
